Breaking news: One Nordic Signum About > News > Breaking news: One Nordic Signum Lif and LMI Strengthen Collaboration: Signum Acquires Farmastat and Expands Across the Nordics Signum Life Science has acquired a majority stake in the Norwegian analytics and data company Farmastat. The acquisition will give the pharmaceutical industry in the Nordics even better opportunities for data-driven insights and analysis and will strengthen cross-border collaboration. With the agreement, the Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Lif, expands its group and deepens its collaboration with its Norwegian counterpart, Legemiddelindustrien (LMI). As part of the agreement, Farmastat will change its name to Signum and will be operated by Signum Life Science in close partnership with LMI.LMI will retain a minority shareholding in the company. Farmastat is also a co-owner of the Swedish company Swedish Pharma Insights (SPI). As a result of the acquisition, Lif increases its ownership share in SPI, which will be further integrated into Signum. This means that Signum Life Science now has a presence across the entire Nordic region. “This agreement brings us another key partner and enables Signum Life Science to meet the pharmaceutical industry’s needs across the Nordics. The new Signum Life Science combines local knowledge and expertise with Nordic-scale data capabilities, making it a strong, competitive alternative to global players. It’s in the industry’s interest to have real choice and competition when it comes to market data and consultancy. That’s why this is an important day for us – and a landmark agreement for the entire industry,” says Ida Sofie Jensen, CEO of Lif. Leif Rune Skymoen, CEO of LMI, agrees: “For LMI, it was essential to find a solution that provides stability for our customers and ensures continued access to high-quality data and analysis. With Signum’s acquisition of Farmastat, we now have an independent and competitive player in the Nordic region, while also building on 30 years of experience in delivering data and consultancy services to pharmaceutical companies in Norway. The partnership with Signum will bring new services and new expertise.” The agreement was signed on 2 July, and the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025. Over the coming months, the organisations in Sweden, Norway and Denmark will be integrated into one unified Nordic company with offices in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen.Customers in Norway, Sweden and Denmark will continue to receive the same high-quality service and delivery from the local experts they know and trust. At the same time, the new setup will allow Signum to offer even more products and services to a broader customer base. “We’ve worked closely with both Farmastat and SPI for many years to deliver cross-Nordic insights, so this is a natural next step. Now that we are coming together as a single organisation under the name Signum Life Science – with local offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo – the industry will benefit from even more products and solutions that both reflect and support a pan-Nordic perspective. It’s part of Signum’s strategy and market position to match the Nordic consolidation we see among many pharmaceutical companies, where services are increasingly purchased at a regional level. We can’t wait to get started,” says Søren-Ulrik Fangholm, Nordic General Manager at Signum Life Science.
