Student Assistant, Value & Access

Are you interested in how new medicines reach patients and how clinical evidence, health economics and healthcare priorities shape access decisions?

Signum is looking for a curious, ambitious and analytically minded student assistant to join our Value & Access team. You will work alongside experienced consultants on projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across Denmark and the Nordics.

The position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with market access, health technology assessment (HTA), health economics and strategic consulting within the life sciences industry.

Your role

You will join the Value & Access team, which is anchored in our Consulting department.

You will not just be a student assistant; you will be a junior consultant. What does that mean for you? In essence, you will not just be doing ad-hoc tasks, you will form a core part of our project teams, and, with the guidance of our senior consultants, you will have end-to-end ownership of workstreams. You will contribute to client projects from research and analysis through to the development of recommendations and client-ready deliverables.

As a student within our Consulting department, you can expect to contribute to other cross-functional client projects as well. This could include projects within Strategy, Market Insights or other areas across Consulting. We see this as an important opportunity to learn, broaden your experience and work with different types of client challenges.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting desk research on diseases, patient pathways, treatment landscapes, clinical evidence and Nordic healthcare systems
  • Reviewing HTA assessments, reimbursement decisions and treatment guidelines
  • Supporting analyses of patient populations, treatment pathways and unmet needs
  • Collecting and structuring information from public sources and scientific literature
  • Contributing to market access strategies, evidence plans and value communication materials
  • Supporting quantitative analyses in Excel, R or Python and preparing presentations
  • Supporting local adaptation of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models in Excel
  • Helping prepare stakeholder interviews, workshops and client meetings
  • Supporting the development of proposals and internal knowledge materials

You will receive guidance from experienced colleagues and gradually take on more responsibility as you develop your skills and become familiar with our projects and clients.

Who we are looking for

We recognise that most students will not yet have professional experience within market access, HTA or health economics. Previous professional experience in these areas is therefore not expected. We are more interested in who you are, how you approach new challenges and your willingness to learn. We are looking for someone who:

  • Is curious and motivated to learn about the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare decision-making
  • Has a strong analytical mindset and enjoys working with complex questions
  • Approaches tasks with initiative, responsibility and a positive attitude
  • Works in a structured way and pays attention to detail
  • Is comfortable asking questions and seeking input when needed
  • Can identify relevant information and communicate it clearly
  • Enjoys collaborating with others and contributing to a team
  • Is comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative information
  • Has a good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel—or is motivated to develop it
  • Communicates confidently in written and spoken English

English is the working language at Signum, and proficiency in Danish or other Nordic languages is not required.

You are likely enrolled in a relevant university programme, such as public health, health economics, economics, political science, pharmacy, medicine, life sciences, or a related field.

What we offer

At Signum, you will become part of a collaborative consultancy working across the life sciences sector. We actively invest in developing our student assistants and aim to position them well for a potential full-time position after graduation. So, if you are looking to explore a career in a growing, fast paced life science consultancy, this could be a great place to start.

What we offer:

  • Practical experience with real client projects in Denmark and the Nordics
  • Exposure to market access, HTA and health economics
  • Guidance and development tailored to your starting point
  • Increasing responsibility as your skills and confidence develop
  • Insight into both strategic consulting and the pharmaceutical industry
  • A flexible working environment that can accommodate your studies
  • A social and informal workplace with ambitious colleagues

Signum is a subsidiary of the Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Lægemiddelindustriforeningen (Lif), and works with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across a broad range of strategic, analytical and operational challenges.
